Welcome and Thank You For Visiting Precious Pets Homecare & Organic Gourmet Dog Treats
Hello, my name is Deanna, Pet Whisperer, Veterinary Technician, owner, head pet sitter and baker here at Precious Pets Homecare & Organic Gourmet Dog Treats.
I graduated from Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute in May 1998 with an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences, majoring in Veterinary Technology. I have had experience in this field for over 13 years and experience in the dog walking, pet sitting & animal home care field for over 24 years.
I've always had a strong concern and love for all animals, therefore understanding how other pet owners would expect their animals to be cared for. I feel this is my purpose in life and is why I have decided to begin to help others in caring for their pets in the comfort of their own home or mine. Whether it be dog walking or pet sitting, I will provide the upmost care for your pet(s).
I understand how much your pets mean to you and I will do everything possible to ensure that their time away from you is a happy and healthy experience.
Truly, I am one of those people who has a special connection with, loves and understands animals of all kinds.
When your pets can’t be with you, at least they can be where they feel the most comfortable, happy, and safe; in their own home. If this isn't an option for you, I also offer pet care services for dogs, birds and caged animals out of my home where they will be loved and cared for as one of my own.
Precious Pets Homecare will care for your pets just like you would, not only with meeting their basic physical needs but their emotional and social ones as well.
My services are offered to all domesticated, farm and most exotic animals. Specializing in dog, cat, parrot and horse care.
Why Is Home Care A Better Alternative?
Animals as well as people are prone to becoming sick under stress. Being away from his/her owner is extremely stressful, but they will often have feelings of abandonment when you take them out of their home environment and drop them off in a strange place.
Being in close quarters with many other animals & unfamiliar surroundings such as a kennel, causes high stress levels for some dogs and most all cats.
Cats can be overwhelmed by the deafening barks of neighboring dogs and for some pets, especially timid & shy ones, can be traumatized by being left in a strange place. Elderly pets can have a difficult time adapting. Some get depressed and lose their appetites. Frequently it takes them a while to adjust when they arrive back home.
Kenneling your pet also brings on a great chance of them becoming physically ill.
Dogs & cats can become ill with worm infestation, parvo, fleas, kennel cough (tracheobronchitis), Upper Respiratory Infections, diarrhea and many other various types of communicable diseases.
For example, Kennel Cough is one of the most common.
Many kennels require this vaccination, but is ineffective and here is why.
Kennel Cough is caused by a number of different airborne bacteria (such as Bordetella bronchiseptica) & viruses (such as canine parainfluenza) or a mycoplasma, which is an organism somewhere between a virus and bacteria. There is a vaccine to "prevent" kennel cough called Bordetella, but is only 50-60% effective, and has to be administered 7-10 days prior to kenneling for any kind of effect. These are several reasons why home care is becoming more and more popular.
Although, I strongly feel that keeping an animal in their home environment is the best choice for all cats, I do feel caring for small caged animals and some dogs out of my home is acceptable.
It is not a kenneling environment. Dogs are not caged, able to run around in a fenced in yard, welcome on furniture and tucked into my or their own personal bed at night.
They won't have to listen to continuous dog barking, nor will they be locked up inside of a cage (unless for training purposes specified by the owner).
Your pet will be loved and cared for as one of my own. It truly is a home away from home.
